Teleconferencing Tips
Before the Conference Call
- Let your participants know the conference call date, time and planned duration
- Provide participants with dial-in number and conference PIN
- Provide participants with a list of the features available to them
- Request your participants to dial in to the conference call 5-10 minutes before the scheduled start time
During the Conference Call
- Enter lecture mode when you want only your voice heard
- If all lines are open, request participants to use their mute function to avoid background noise
- Request that participants speak clearly and identify themselves
- Ask that no one put their phone on hold, as the hold music will disrupt the conference
- Be specific with your comments and questions; request others to do the same
After the Conference Call
- Arrange your next teleconference with your participants
- Ask for feedback from participants on effectiveness of conference
